About London Urban Collective
The London Urban Collective is a group of 30 young people from the Highbury area who have been given the oportunity to make a record. Selected from more than 120 hopefuls at auditions held in the summer. They have been able to do this because Freeport Records have pulled together funding from varoius sources such as Arsenal and Islington Council.
With support from Shystie and Skinnyman, the London Urban Collective is stylistically broad, taking in hip hop, garage, funk, soul, two-step, d’n’b and grime, while providing an insight into the pressures facing inner city youth.
